Writing and Exercising Emergency/Contingency Plans

This training will introduce you to the business continuity arrangements that will allow you to implement or support your organisations business continuity program and planning.

This course is designed for events industry professionals to enhance their knowledge and understanding of working in a multi-agency environment during a crisis. It includes hands-on training using case studies, a practical exercise and group discussions that encourage an immersive learning experience. The course is aligned with the current Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) Doctrine, and once completed, it ensures that you and your organisation can work collaboratively alongside partner agencies and, when required provide support and make informed decisions during a crisis.

Preparing your organisation for the unknown requires significant planning, forethought, and an organized effort to identify potential threats and take proactive steps to minimize risks. For many organisations, this type of focused preparation starts with creating an emergency plan or Business Continuity Plan. Over time, organizations may develop a more comprehensive business continuity plan for different scenarios—each intended to document and provide detailed instructions concerning how the organization will respond if/when an emergency occurs. But, how can you know whether your emergency response or business continuity plan is sufficient before you need to put it in action? Thankfully, tabletop exercises are a great tool that provides employee safety and business continuity leaders a low-cost but high-impact way of determining emergency preparedness before a crisis occurs.&nbsp,The exercise is designed to immerse the training audience in a realistic scenario that is taken from your own risk register. It will set out to validate their response in accordance with their doctrine and procedures. The exercise looks at procedures not people and can be multi-agency. It can also look at any key aspects of Response and Recovery and highlight the importance of working together with one aim. The exercise is designed to confirm both National and JESIP Doctrine.

The course is designed for anyone who is required to represent their organisation alongside another responder. The course will prepare training audience to fulfil this role whilst also ensuring they understand current doctrine and procedures. The course is fully aligned to current National and JESIP Doctrine.

The course will give the training audience the knowledge and skills aligned to good practice on how to make decisions and record information during a crisis. It will look at the key aspects of Decision Making and highlight the importance of recording key decisions to ensure individuals and organisations are prepared for a Crisis.&nbsp,

This training is aligned with the NHS Minimum Occupational Standards for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR). The training course is for NHS staff with strategic, tactical or operational roles and responsibilities in Crisis Management.

During a Crisis, if you operate at a tactical/silver level, this course is your opportunity to build on your knowledge and experience by either, introducing, refreshing, revising, or advising you in the critical activities you will be required to undertake. This course has been developed by drawing on the experience of practitioners to ensure it equips you with the knowledge needed during a crisis within your own organisation, as well as in multi-responder environments. Through case studies, group discussion this hands-on training course will provide an immersive, informative, and fun experience. The course is fully aligned to current Doctrine (JESIP).

The course will deliver the knowledge and understand of what is required when you are establishing or supporting the Multi-Agency Information Cell.

The training is designed to ensure the training audience who will have a role in the Emergency Control Room environment. It will look at the key issues that relate to the role and highlight potential pitfalls.

The course will give the training audience the knowledge and skills aligned to good practice on how to operate at the Strategic level during a Crisis. It will look at the key aspects of Crisis Management by activity to ensure individuals and organisations are prepared for a Crisis. The course is fully aligned to current National and JESIP Doctrine.

This Understanding and Implementing Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) Course is for all organisations who have a role and responsibilities in, responding to and recovering from Major Incidents/Crise. The course has been designed to cover the full spectrum of - JESIP Doctrine. The doctrine will be brought to life by including, Group Exercises, Case Studies that highlight 'why' things go wrong, Open Discussions and Videos. The course has been approved by the JESIP Team and developed in consultation with experienced practitioners from the 'Responder' communities and will be delivered by an experienced subject matter expert.
