The session covers the anatomy and physiology of breathing, physiological changes, indications for ventilation including sleep apnoea’s, principles, modes and settings, alarms, observations, care of the ventilated patient, trouble shooting and common ventilators used in the community.

The session covers A&amp,P of the respiratory system, basic and systematic assessment, saturation monitoring, oxygen delivery, humidification &amp, nebulisers, airway clearance techniques including chest physio, cough assist and nasal, oral &amp, cough stimulation suctioning and advanced airway techniques (if required).&nbsp,

A training session for nurses, teaching staff and healthcare workers, caring for patients and clients diagnosed with epilepsy out in the community. The session covers causes of seizures, epilepsy diagnosis, triggers, treatments and management, first aid for seizures and recognising a medical emergency, buccal and rectal rescue medications, care plans, SUDEP.

A practical training session for nurses, healthcare workers and education staff caring for patients and clients with tracheostomies in the community. The session covers A&P of the upper respiratory system, indications for a tracheostomy and associated anatomical changes and implications, routine care and suctioning, complications and ways of resolving them, emergency tube changes, immediate life support, tracheostomy resuscitation and manual ventilation.
