Veterans Families and Carers Training Course

The training is designed for people who are interested in helping services across Sussex and Kent & Medway. Focusing on Armed Forces veterans, their immediate family or carers who have little previous experience of the Armed Forces. The training is held at Reserve Centres to assist with giving the training a military feel, and all communication is in a military format. Also included is an opportunity to understand why they should support the work, what resources are available and the need to network. Presentations are also given by partner organisations to the Network.

The training is designed for members of staff who liaise with those who may be from within the Armed Forces Community enabling them to become more Armed Forces, veteran, their immediate family or carer focused. This is based on the 1 day course offered by the Armed Forces Network but has been shortened and adapted for Surrey and Hampshire County Councils to enable them to meet their responsibilities under the Armed Forces Covenant.
