Supporting children on the autism spectrum in a mainstream classroom

This comprehensive training is suitable for every professional working with children in a mainstream school. The course starts with independent learning, accessing two pre-recorded sessions that cover understanding of autism and the mental health of children on the spectrum. Throughout the 5 modules, candidates will also be learning to understand behaviour including strategies to deal with behaviours that challenge, to support academic progress, evidence- based practices that promote pupil wellbeing and ways of coping with the pressure in the job and look after themselves. Attendees will better understand autism as a condition, the needs of their pupil, and will change their perception of children on the spectrum to be able to provide better support.
