The Bon Accord Care Basic Life Support course is designed to upskill participants to promptly recognise several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions and provide early use of an AED, through the guidance of practical instructor-led training and scenarios. The course also covers when DNACPR (Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is to be used and the importance of the recovery position to preserve life by maintaining an open airway.

This course explains the need for records and the steps staff should take to ensure that the documents written in a Service User’s support plan are accurate, detailed, factual and follow data protection legislation. Attendees will learn the importance of using appropriate language and documenting in a person-centred way. This is accomplished through a blended learning approach involving both activities and group discussion. During the course, attendees will be expected to understand the impact of improper documentation and the possible consequences on SSSC registration.

Manual Handling of people and objects is a training course designed to understand the effective principles of movement. Carry out manual handling tasks in a safe and reasonably practicable manner, preventing musculoskeletal disorders, information alone will not prevent risks to service users and support staff. Our Manual handling training course is designed to provide information and guidance on the manual handling regulations and the importance of conducting dynamic risk assessment using LITEE (load, Individual Capability, Task, Environment, Equipment) with a practical training session in manual handling techniques and using a safe system of work to reduce work related injuries.
