The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98) necessitates abrasive wheels courses for anyone involved in the use, mounting or inspection of abrasive wheels in a workplace. Often, training given in the work environment is much easier for employees to follow, as they do not have to allow for differences in equipment and layout as they learn.

Our manual handling training course allows employers to comply with manual handling regulations. It is usually carried out at your own premises, which makes it easy to train a number of people at one time. Delegates gain an understanding of the regulations and learn manual handling awareness. Our Safe Working at Heights course will cover all aspects of training at height and aims to give enhanced awareness of the dangers of working at height, not only to those working above ground level but also those at ground level who may still be injured from a fall. For example, working alongside an unguarded inspection pit would be just as hazardous ‘working at height’ as there is the potential for a fall resulting in injury or even death. Due care must also be given to colleagues and members of the public who may be injured on the ground by those working above.

Our Train the Trainer Facefit course is aimed at individuals who work in a role where it is commonplace to use RPE. These individuals will be fully trained on how to select, fit and test face masks properly in order to protect themselves and their work colleagues from inhaling dust and other dangerous substances. This course is particularly useful and predominantly aimed at any company working under regulations associated with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) and the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR).

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil the role of a fire marshal within their workplace or community. Our trainers will cover everything from identifying how fire starts and spreads to carrying out routine checks and reporting on fire protection measures required in the workplace.

Our ladder safety training equips users of temporary access equipment with all theoretical knowledge they require, whilst also giving them insight into recognising and eliminating the danger of incorrect ladder usage. This training allows delegates to conduct risk assessments and select the right equipment for the job according to the height to be accessed. While ladders can be used for low height tasks, it is important to take appropriate measures to reduce risk and candidates will complete the course with an understanding of the risks and the precautions that need to be put in place.

Our Cat & Genny course provides delegates with the essential knowledge to operate a Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) and a Signal Generator (GENNY) when tracing underground services to meet the guidance safely and correctly from HSG 47 for Avoiding Danger from Underground Services. This involves hands-on use of the actual locators to detect and trace the route of buried underground services. This will cover the different types of buried services, current legislation and best practice concerning detecting buried services, the safety implications of not using a locator and associated ancillary equipment, use of local utility plans and observations.

Our confined space training meets HSE guidelines. When working in a confined space it presents a unique set of issues that all workers need to be equipped to deal with. These issues can lead to injury or even death if proper procedures are not followed. The course stipulates which certain working practices must be adhered to including the conducting of risk assessments, clear identification of hazards and how to minimise them – especially where noxious substances could be present – and most important of all, a pre-planned escape strategy should an incident occur.

Our Ladders and steps inspection course is aimed at supervisors or managers who have successfully completed the "Boss Training Ladder and Stepladder Course". It will equip them with all theoretical knowledge to carry out a thorough inspection of Ladders and Steps. It will give the delegates a knowledge of the statutory requirements for carrying out inspections and the regulations that govern them. Delegates will be given practical instruction on how to carry out an Inspection and the methods of recording such inspections.
