Breathing Air - The provision of breathable air to be used by a person in the execution of a work related task is controlled by certain legal requirements. Understanding of these legal requirements is essential for the safe use and provision of breathing air and equipment.

Candidates will attend to maintain knowledge of pressure systems safety regulations. The lesson will develop current skill levels of candidates to promote continued best practice in the examination of compressed air pressure systems. Candidates will be required to demonstrate appropriate knowledge during a Q&A session. Candidates will be trained on current legislation relating to pressure systems and how to interpret that legislation.

What Does This Course Cover? The course has been developed to give individuals the basic knowledge and skills to provide examination services in accordance with Regulation 9 of the Pressure Systems’ Safety Regulations, S.I. 2000 No. 128. The course is based on the requirement of Regulation 9, which requires that a ‘competent person’ performs an examination of specified parts of a compressed air system.
