The course is designed for the “non specialist” teacher in order to build confidence to deliver Kodaly inspired music sessions effectively with well-chosen material structured in a progressive manner. The course will be highly practical focussing on singing games which then act as a springboard to musical learning developing the essential building blocks of musical learning (beat, rhythm, pitch, dynamics, tempo, phrasing). Participants will be introduced to the basics of musical reading and writing and shown how to lead in a logical sequential way to notation. The course will look at the variety of ways in which music can support the broader curriculum specifically literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing.
