To give social care workers an awareness and understanding of Autism & neurodiversity and how best to support people with Autism to enable them to live fulfilling lives.

This is a workshop for individuals with additional needs to learn the daily living practical core skills, promote empowerment and enhance independence for the individuals involved. The workshop also provides key information, guidance and meaningful support with a person-centred approach at its core.

Household Safety is a practical, two-part course designed to build confidence and awareness around home safety. Participants explore topics such as home security, emergency preparedness, safe visitor interactions, and basic maintenance like changing lightbulbs. The second session focuses on identifying household hazards, understanding chemical safety, interpreting hazard symbols, and practicing safe cleaning techniques. Through hands-on activities, group discussions, and real-life scenarios, the course empowers individuals to make safer choices in their living environments and respond effectively to common household risks.

To understand the different causes of infection. Describe the chain of infection. Identify Infection Control Standards (SICPS) Demonstrate good hand hygiene.

To develop skills and knowledge for the competent administration of medication in a care setting by identifying and applying good practice and person-centered care.

This course, designed for individuals with additional support needs, builds essential money management skills across four interactive sessions. Participants learn to distinguish between essential and non-essential spending, create personal budgets, and explore saving and borrowing strategies. Through engaging activities like the Jellybean Game and Meal Deal Challenge, they gain practical experience in managing income, reducing expenses, and planning for independent living.

A moving and assisting refresher course updates caregivers on the latest safe techniques for lifting, transferring, and supporting individuals with mobility challenges. It reinforces proper body mechanics, use of assistive devices, and effective communication skills. The course includes practical exercises to ensure caregivers maintain their competence and confidence in providing safe and effective support.

This course is to assist and inform staff to develop an understanding of Health and Safety practices within the workplace and the responsibilities there in.
