Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) for AI Systems Design

This course provides entrepreneurial training to professionals working in the life sciences and biotechnology. You will also explore the importance of being crystal clear on your story, the effectiveness of simplicity, incisive writing and speaking techniques, using logic and emotion to influence and persuade, how to adopt positive body language to help you command an audience, and the remarkable but all too often underappreciated art of storytelling.

Discover the what, when and why of control engineering. Participants will learn to identify opportunities for feedback and control in their professional context and develop the skills needed to effectively use Matlab and Simulink to analyse and design control systems. They will look at performance specifications and theoretical limits on what can be achieved, as well as discuss sensors and actuators. Relevant examples will be drawn from a range of applications to give context to conceptual information and participants will be encouraged to apply their learning to their own work through discussions and project work.

The importance of sustainable development is increasingly acknowledged and accepted throughout The engineering of critical infrastructure enables the delivery of essential services and it is vital that these systems are designed to meet the real needs of society and end users in truly sustainable ways. Using case studies, the course will show how guiding principles for sustainable infrastructure can deliver better solutions in practice. We will look at the process of change and innovation and investigate the use of specific tools and methodologies which can apply to planning, design, construction and operational issues in the infrastructure sector.

Our online course, ESG Risk Management, provides managers across all sectors with a comprehensive introduction to ESG risk management practice. As the requirement to address ESG risks grows, this course will equip you with the tools and techniques to develop a more sustainable and resilient organisation.
