The webinar will look at, Dehydration, Causes, Healthy drinks, Care planning, assessments and suggested actions. Looking at dehydration and what causes it. Healthy drink options. Care planning to support the service user to remain hydrated, with suggested assessments, and suggested actions to put in place to avoid dehydration, taking into account what support they need, whilst promoting independence, and with the goal of helping them to them live well.

What to do when there is an outbreak of communicable infection or an infection control incident. Including isolation for residents with a communicable infection. Also covered is safe handling/disposal of sharps, linen and laundry, decontamination of equipment and glucose monitoring.

How to document/evidence in your care plans that you are supporting the service user with mouth care, including those who are poorly/terminally ill. How to perform mouth care (with dentures and natural teeth) Taking into account what support they need, whilst promoting independence, and with the goal of helping them to them live well.

Along with advice on how to support service users to prevent urinary incontinence. The focus is on providing appropriate support and planning care for those with urinary incontinence, in order to maintain comfort, independence and dignity.
