CLOCS Construction Logistics Planning (CLP) Foundation Training

A Construction Logistics Plan (CLP) provides the framework for understanding and managing construction vehicle activity into and out of a proposed development. It includes a full assessment of all phases of construction and gives details on routing, traffic management and community considerations. Advanced training completes the journey for individuals involved in producing CLPs focusing on the methodology for assessing and calculating vehicle movements during each of the construction phases. In order to attend this course, you must complete Foundation training before progressing to Practitioner training and finally Advanced to complete your journey.

A Construction Logistics Plan (CLP) provides the framework for understanding and managing construction vehicle activity into and out of a proposed development. It includes a full assessment of all phases of construction and gives details on routing, traffic management and community considerations. Practitioner training is the practical bit and helps delegates to develop, assess and deliver CLPs effectively. On completion, delegates become a CLP Practitioner. CLP training, developed in conjunction with Transport for London and HS2, provides guidance and support to help the construction industry work together to plan and manage construction logistics to and from sites.

Site Access Traffic Marshals (SATMs) stationed at the site entrance are the primary and critical interface between the site, fleet operations and the public. They ensure only authorised vehicles and people enter the site, while also ensuring vehicles entering and leaving the site do so safely and efficiently. SATM training is delivered throughout the year. These courses are ‘train the trainer’ events aimed at those selected to deliver SATM training within their organisations, equipping them to deliver this training to the approved standards using CLOCS materials.
