Surveying and Setting Out 2 day course

Applied Construction is a 6-day residential experiential learning for new delegates into the industry or those who are studying Build Environment related courses. Its core model has an Academic Institute partnering with Industry to deliver the Constructionarium Applied Construction experience. This enables the students to apply the theory they have learnt into practice. Variations to this model are also used by organisations who use Constructionarium Applied Construction experience to help prepare new-starters as part of their induction, summer school or joint ventures. Working in teams of 15-22 they complete a project which simulates the real-life conditions of the construction industry.

A 2-day course providing an insight into the practical application of construction with a focus on the process of design and build alongside the basic principles of Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose and NetZero. By reusing materials and working in teams to complete an on-site construction challenge, the attendees will gain knowledge and understanding of the construction sector, with a focus on teambuilding, collaboration, problem solving, decision making and communication skills. Additionally, the course covers an understanding of site health and safety behaviours, site practices and terminology, hazard spotting and control measures. There will be a mixture of classroom and site activities.

The aim of this 3-day course is for the learner to gain knowledge, understanding and experience additional practical application in surveying and setting out against construction plans and includes using a level and total station effectively. Once completed, the skills can be applied to all aspects of construction including earthworks, roads, buildings, foundations, piles, structural steel, structures, reinforced concrete, houses etc. This course can be delivered as a residential on site at Constructionarium Ltd’s bespoke training facility in Bircham Newton, Norfolk or at the customers chosen location and can accommodate a maximum of 16 personnel. The course is delivered with classroom and onsite practical elements.
