Specifying Consumer Units to meet BS EN 61439-3. Distribution boards intended to be operated by ordinary persons (DBO)

This CPD introduces some of the compliance requirements of BS EN 61439-3 and the responsibilities manufactures must fulfil before certification is granted. A variety of tests are required to be performed with certification only being granted upon successful completion of each test. These tests are onerous and designed to prove the unit is able to perform way past its normal expected operational design characteristics. A selection of the most critical tests are explained in the CPD. Information regarding installation, fire, environmental and document M considerations, in relation to consumer units, is also provided in the seminar.
