Maintaining a safe and healthy workplace is an essential part of the services we provide. This module considers some everyday risks to health and safety that you may come across in your work. It describes what you can do to prevent them, and what you need to do if an accident should happen.

This is a 5-hour training course which looks at the treatment of personality disorder.

Goals, To give an introductory professional overview, understanding and diagnosis of addiction, To give guidance to families and professionals on the familial interpersonal dynamics around addiction, and how they can best help both themselves and the family member. Outcomes, Increased awareness and knowledge about the process of addiction, both professionally and within the interpersonal realm, Increased confidence for family members to cope with, and for professionals to understand, the challenges of living with a family member with drug & alcohol problems.

When you handle food as part of your work at Cygnet, you have a responsibility to ensure that it is done safely. This module describes the essential elements of safe food handling, it will help you to, understand your responsibilities as someone who handles food at Cygnet, understand the risks involved in handling food, know what you can do to minimise the risks

This one-day course will provide the candidate with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise and manage the patient in cardiac arrest following the advanced life support algorithm. Instruction is given in basic life support, airway management and safe use of the manual defibrillator and/or automated external defibrillator (AED) and the recognition and care of the deteriorating casualty.

This is a 5-hour training course on improving physical health in a secure setting.

Infection control is the process of controlling or preventing the spread of disease, and it is essential for keeping our premises clean and our people safe and well. Every time you wash your hands, disinfect a toilet or clear out rubbish from the kitchen you are performing an act of infection control. This module will help you understand the importance of infection control at Cygnet.

This module describes how to apply Cygnet's information governance polices and procedures. The emphasis is on keeping information confidential and secure. The module has been updated recently to include information concerning General data protection regulation.

This Achieve module describes the history of how people withy a learning disability were treated byte Poor Law and during the Industrial Revolution It also covers the Eugenics movement at the beginning of the 20th Century. It also describes how individuals with a learning disability can benefit from living in the community.

This training course looks at the management of aggression in child and adolescent in-patient units.

The meaning of mental capacity and the purpose of the Mental capacity Act. Assume capacity unless it can be determined otherwise. Deprivation of Liberty Standards are described in this module.

Highlights the importance of MHA (Amended 2007)Describes the Admission procedure taking into account, Least restrictive practice options/maximising independence. The modules covers the roles of Mental Health Act Administrator, Advocate and multi disciplinary team.

This is a full-day training seminar which looks at personality disorder.

When faced with an emergency, such as a fire or a person being injured, it is important that every member of staff knows what to do, so that you can do the right thing and do it quickly. This module describes the ways we all need to respond to emergencies at Cygnet.

This interactive and practical course will provide a structured approach to incident investigation from an initial understanding of the legal and factual context through to information collection, analysis, the report, and writing a final action plan.

This module will include the Principles of Adult safeguarding. It will describe the importance of maintaining a safe environment. The module will identify which adults are vulnerable. The module covers the rolls of the Safeguarding Adults boards and multi Agency working. It includes the Cygnet Whistleblowing Procedure.
