Application, Assessment, & Use Of Hoisting/Lifting Slings

This training course will focus on best practice in relation to completing a specialist seating assessment. The key learning objectives from this training session are to understand about the importance of a seating assessment, with the aim of providing you with increased confidence with identifying the correct solution that will meet the needs of an individual following your clinical assessment.

This training workshop provides an introduction to understanding the problems surrounding obesity, including assistance solutions such as sit-to-stand procedure, turning and repositioning in bed, easy sling applications, gait training, and lifting heavy limbs.

Delegates will gain a theoretical and practical understanding of the management of a client in bed. This will include posture and positioning when profiling / sitting up in bed, moving and across and up the bed and turning and repositioning clients with different mobility levels.

This training course provides an understanding of the strains on health and care budgets, and offers some solutions to reducing the manpower required in everyday caring, without compromising safety.

Participants in this workshop will get a theoretical and practical understanding of key principles of Sit to Stand as well as Stand to sit. The Module will focus on the use of the core skills of Sit to Stand and the importance of the use of core skills and principles when working with assistive devices to achieve a Sit to Stand. Focus will be given to clients that need assistance for Sit to Stand, from minimal assistance through to the use of the Standaid.

This training workshop examines several moving and handling tasks and how, if we make subtle changes or introduce small items of equipment, we can reduce the effort required to complete the task - increasing an individual’s confidence and giving them a feeling of achievement. It is often the small changes we make that can significantly assist with an individual’s enablement, enabling them to become more independent and potentially have a substantial effective impact on Single Handed Care.
