This course focuses on equipment that helps people live more independently, safely and comfortably. It will inform you about key pieces of equipment that you might need to know about in your work. We will present each item one by one, with a description of how it is used. The information is presented in a combination of video and text. You will then be able to answer questions about each piece of equipment to demonstrate your understanding.

The format and content of this training day reflects the latest information, equipment and professional guidance available. This includes new guidance on legal cases and what it means to training.

A 1 day course with teaching surrounding the legislation involved in manual handling and the principles for safe moving and handling of people, involving risk assessments, problem solving and practical techniques.

A "Trusted Assessor" when trained will be able to assess for and prescribe a simple solution or a basic piece of equipment to meet the needs of an individual living with a disability.
