5 day course open to medical professionals that have responsibility for carrying out manual handling risk assessments and training. This extended course is designed for workers with an experience of moving and handling people together with a responsibility for training others in safer handling skills.

The workshop will cover information on conditions that cause challenging behaviour such as autism, pathological demand avoidance etc. including current research and thinking. The triggers that can give rise to the behaviours and how the behaviour manifests. There will be a practical element including manual handling looking at strategies to manage challenging behaviour.

The format and content of this training day reflects the latest information, equipment and professional guidance available. This includes new guidance on legal cases and what it means to training.

This course explores the Moving and Handling of children in community and hospital settings. There is a practical problem solving approach by using equipment and techniques tailored for those working with children or for those assessing their Moving and Handling needs.

A 1 day course with teaching surrounding the legislation involved in manual handling and the principles for safe moving and handling of people, involving risk assessments, problem solving and practical techniques.

A course to focus delegates on the importance of managing risk when moving and handling. Delegates will be reminded of relevant legislation and guidance and the responsibilities of employers and employees. Delegates will learn how to carry out a detailed risk assessment on the introduction and review doing a risk assessment on the update.

A "Trusted Assessor" when trained will be able to assess for and prescribe a simple solution or a basic piece of equipment to meet the needs of an individual living with a disability.
