Biofilms is the term used to describe a bacterial growth of microorganisms on a surface, which form glue-like substances which is difficult to remove and survives in aqueous environments. Whilst not something new, microbiology research has given us a better understanding of how organisms, grow on surfaces, communicate and survive. This advanced course explores the nature of Biofilms, the impact they have on food processing sites and how we can combat them in practice.
