Dry Arch Children’s Centres
Psycho-educational and therapeutic group for Key Stage Two age children addressing anxiety and worry. A fun and interactive programme for our older children that focuses on empowering children through knowledge of their emotions, how we experience those and why our bodies respond in this way. A range of therapeutic exercises to help children regain control of their emotional wellbeing are used throughout to connect the participants to each other and also regulate the bodies senses ready to absorb the teaching. All while developing a toolkit of therapeutic self-regulating skills to carry with them into their day to day.

The CyberPAL information, training and support programme has been developed with the following aims, Explaining what Cyberbullying is, how it works and what harm it does, Emphasising the need to treat others as we want to be treated ourselves, Staying safe on-line to prevent Cyberbullying, Recognising when someone is being a target, Dealing with Cyberbullying together, Signposting to services that can aid in helping children and parents. The programme has content for 3 audiences. Primary School aged children, Post Primary School age and also a Parents target group.

With Parenting with Purpose you will work in partnership with your child to build mutual empathy, respect and understanding. It encourages children to become aware and responsive to their own feelings, and allows parents to guide their child through dealing with these feelings in an age appropriate way, This programme supports parents and carers to better understand that behind every behaviour is a feeling – and how the stage of your child’s brain development can affect their ability to express this.

We provide a 4-week creative therapeutic programme that recognises the impact of trauma upon our children during the lockdown period. The programme embraces Bruce Perry’s 6 R’s in working with children in trauma informed manner, Rhythmic Repetitive Relevant Rewarding Respectful Relational.Over the 4 weeks we focus on re-developing that feeling of safety and security within our school setting and school bubble The four week programme is largely creative and games based it within ourselves our school setting and within our peer relationships Developing self-esteem, and a felt sense of is fun and collaborative but with a carefully considered therapeutic framework.

A therapeutic programme. This programme will enable child and care giver to understand why feelings of separation anxiety exist. Using a variety of games, activities and therapeutic interventions children will be able to manage the feelings they have and be supported by the parent to become secure and safe and to move away from negative feelings of separation anxiety.

Understanding Attachment for Parent and Carers

A short training video to educate parents and carers as to what Attachment is, where it has come from and also the Attachment Styles. Within this training video each attachment style is looked at in detail and then advice for parents and carers on how to create secure attachments is given. This video will be used to send to parents and carers who require support and advice on different areas of parenting.
