About the CPD Course

This CPD has been developed to provide insight into the general Fire Legislation that is currently in place across England, and primarily, to provide a more detailed understanding into the latest Fire Safety Regulations. It will also review how the new Legislation interfaces with additional, existing, Fire Legislation and will discuss the important role played by the regional Fire & Rescue Service (FRS). Lastly, we’ll cover how the life safety of residents who live in multiple occupancy buildings is being improved.

Personal Protection Systems

By the end of the seminar, participants will gain a greater understanding of why LPS1655 certification was introduced, and how personal protection systems can be of benefit when helping to protect high risk residents with early fire detection. Participants will also acquire knowledge about water mist fire suppression and how these systems can provide a flexible approach to fire safety for the UK Fire and Rescue Services, Housing Associations and Councils.

Secured By Design

This CPD has been developed to introduce Secured By Design and why it exists. Attendees can look to gain an understanding of building knowledge of how manufacturers become Secured By Design accredited and how they produce certified door sets. The CPD will then talk through different typical industry tests and what they entail and lastly cover off how to apply Secured By Design to communal entrances for social housing refurbishments and new builds.
