CVD Online Refresher Workshop

This programme is designed for healthcare professionals who currently manage people with asthma and wish to refresh their skills. Delivered as two 2-hour facilitated online workshops with research and quality initiatives to be undertaken between sessions, the course combines group discussions, peer review and best practice development. The sessions are highly interactive, based on the needs of the individuals and group, and are led by an experienced frontline clinician. The course will enable learners to identify and research interdependencies specific to their own practice population e.g. difficult asthma, occupational asthma, mental health, dysfunctional breathing, smoking cessation, joint working protocols.

Topics for discussion will include national guidelines and their application in practice, COPD phenotypes, supported self-management, and treatment pathways.

With a focus on Type 2 Diabetes, this course will equip learners with a range of non-pharmacological strategies to support patients to self-manage their condition, as well as exploring pharmacological interventions and recent innovations in Diabetes care. Familiarity with relevant national guidelines and local formularies will be an asset.
