Healthcare professionals are aware that decisions about whether or not CPR will be attempted raise very sensitive and potentially distressing issues for patients and those close to them. As a consequence there has been stand-alone professional guidance on CPR decision- making since the 1990s and guidance published jointly by the British Medical Association, Resuscitation Council (UK) and Royal College of Nursing since 2001. This Half day session is based on that guidance and aims to guide the practitioner to make the best informed decisions with their patients regarding end of life and CPR decisions. This three-day course begins by giving staff an understanding of the presentation, causes and challenges relating to the range of Eating Disorders including the clinical diagnoses of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder and Non- Specified Eating Disorders. Building on this foundation, this course then seeks to build the confidence of staff and offer them a broader range of strategies for working with young people experiencing these disorders in particular with a focus on Anorexia Nervosa. This includes options around nutritional management, consideration of physical and psychological needs, and positive support around self-image and self-esteem. It also enables all staff to work constructively with multidisciplinary teams providing medical, psychiatric, psychological and general support in accordance with NICE Guidelines.  In addition, the course looks at the practical management and support given by staff to someone with an Eating Disorder and includes Treatment with nasogastric tubes, (passing a tube and feeding) as well as meal planning and meal support. This one day course focusses on the involvement of patients, families and staff under the new Patient Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and has a practical approach to learn the skills required. The course follows current NHS Patient Safety Incident Investigation (PSII) guidance and teaches recognised good practice to engage and communicate with all those involved in healthcare learning responses whilst considering Human Factors, “Just Culture” and the “Duty of Candour, how to communicate effectively with patients, how to conduct the new “Being Open Conversations” as well as more formal interviews and how to offer supportive feedback to all parties involved. This course covers an overview of Epilepsy, what the condition is, causes, diagnosis and treatment options including First Aid management. All employers have a responsibility to ensure there are sufficient trained Fire Wardens in their workplace. These employees need to be trained to minimise the risk of fire, and to be able to take appropriate action in the event of a fire occurring. This Fire Warden course covers the duties under fire legislation, as well as looking fire prevention measures, the correct use of fire extinguishers, and how to organise a fire evacuation. To conform to the 2005 Fire Safety Act our bespoke courses are specifically designed to make the training as informative and enjoyable as possible through lecture, videos, group discussions, exercises and practical scenarios. All training is delivered by fully qualified firefighters/instructors who can use real life experiences and incidents. This course is for delegated staff who takes on the role of a fire warden or fire marshal as required by law.
