Route to Competency Masterclass

Phlebotomy (Venepuncture) Training, A two day classroom-based course covering all aspects of theory and practical skill-set development up to the point of live blood draws. A follow-on Route to Competency Course also available. Open to all candidates and assumes no previous experience of taking blood. Training includes a thorough understanding of the evacuated bottle system, sample handling, IPC, analytical errors and bottle/test types. Q&A assessment and associated support material (no exams to sit). We train individuals with no prior healthcare background through to corporate and NHS accounts and group bookings. Candidates can assume phlebotomy roles immediately after completing the course.

An Advanced Phlebotomy and Cannulation Course that covers all aspects of skill set development up to the point of cannulating and advanced phlebotomy techniques. Training includes a thorough understanding of POC testing, special phlebotomy procedures, geriatric phlebotomy, children and neonates, peripheral phlebotomy tasks, peripheral IV cannulation, legal and professional responsibilities, anatomy & physiology, procedure, hygiene and infection prevention control, equipment, vein choice, complications, and contraindications. Candidates can apply for roles within the NHS or private sector upon completion of the course.

An advanced phlebotomy course consisting of online learning (Part 1 – theory) followed by either a classroom or virtual classroom skill-based training session (Part 2 – practicals). Covers all aspects of skill-set development and advanced phlebotomy skills. Training includes revision of basic phlebotomy techniques, an understanding of aspirated and evacuated systems, advanced phlebotomy skills and techniques, neonates & geriatric patients, point of care testing, equipment handling including correct use of centrifuges, legal consent & documentation, handling patient allergies, drug trials and challenging patients.

Collagen Induction Therapy PRP Treatment Course designed for beginners (with no previous experience), full training is provided to enable the delegate to practise as a level 4 aesthetic therapist. The course provides comprehensive training on minimally invasive procedures such as Microneedling (up to 0.5mm needle depth), Micropigmentation, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) & Laser Therapy. With a focus on microneedling, the course will also cover harvesting and application of platelet-rich plasma to the client’s skin. Delegates will be able to work within a salon or set up their own freelance (self-employed) business upon completion of the course.

Introduction to ECG course, Combined online theory with 3 hour classroom/ virtual classroom based practical session covering all aspects of performing an Electrocardiograph. Training includes a thorough understanding of infection prevention & control, preparation for ECG examination, the electricity of the heart, the ECG machine, the 12-lead ECG, QRS complex, conduction issues within different areas of the heart, the heart’s rhythm and abnormalities within the P, QRS & T waves of an ECG record. We train individuals with no prior healthcare background through to corporate and NHS accounts and group bookings.

The Advanced ECG Interpretation & Analysis course is a companion course to the Introduction to ECG, Recording & Basic Interpretation Course. This course covers variations that can occur both within a normal ECG and an abnormal ECG record associated with various diseases. The course also demonstrates the importance of interpreting an ECG as an extension of the patient’s clinical history and physical examination. The ECG is part of a diagnostic process and management of an individual patient, therefore, this course will also look at the different symptoms of cardiovascular disease.
