The Grenfell Inquiry Phase 1 Report and the Draft Fire Safety Bill both highlight the importance of having Premises Information Box Systems available. This is so that attending fire crews can utilise the plans and information provided, to improve their response to the incident, which in turn should reduce any impact upon residents, property and the building in the event of a fire.. “Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail” presentation and seminar will explain what type of information should be provided, in what format it should be and why this is essential to the responding fire crews. The content of the guidance for High Rise Residential Blocks, (HRRB’s), which has been developed with the assistance of the UK Fire and Rescue Service will form the foundation for the forthcoming British Standard.

This presentation will provide an overview of how existing and recent government legislation, including the Fire Safety Act, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Building Safety Act 2022 have impacted fire doorsets in housing, in particular HRRBs, and what to consider when delivering fire doorset compliance. It touches upon specification – how energy-efficient retrofit can be achieved with fire doorsets whilst maintaining high levels of fire safety performance, maintenance considerations to assist with product integrity, traceability and regulatory oversight.

This presentation highlights what to be aware of when submitting a building control application for fire doorsets at the second critical checkpoint, during the construction phase of higher-risk buildings, under the Building Safety Act's framework. It provides a background to recent legislation affecting fire doorsets, key aspects of the Building Safety Regime governing fire doorsets, and what to consider when providing the direct line of sight between the construction project and building regulations. It touches on performance criteria for this construction product and looks at ways of future-proofing for the forthcoming changes in approved guidance documents for Building Regulations 2010.

Seminar discusses the importance of correct specification of fire doorset assemblies, explains what a complete FD60(S)/FD30(S) doorset is, covers current legislation, guidance, approved standards and testing and includes best practice design guidance.
