In the morning we discuss the forms modern slavery is taking in the UK with real life case studies to illustrate it’s complexity and its involvement in migration and organised crime. Delegates learn how to identify if someone is experiencing or is at risk of Modern Slavery by delving into what makes people vulnerable and what the drivers of exploitation are. During the afternoon, delegates will take a deep dive into the UK’s current support systems, how to access these and the common needs and barriers to disclosure. The training concludes with a look at yearly and quarterly trends and consideration of the impact of the latest legislation, such as the new Nationality And Boarders Act 2022, and the Illegal Migration Act 2023.
