Modern Slavery (Half Day Course – Silver)

This e-learning training video is for workplaces who are providing a physical Safe Space to members of the public and employees within the organisation. This e-learning contains an overview of domestic abuse, what it is and who it affects. The training provides guidance about what to do in the event of someone entering the workplace looking for a safe space.

A training for anyone who has line management responsibilities for 1 or more people within organisations to ensure they have information and knowledge and how to support employees who experience domestic abuse.

An in-depth training on coercive control, the dynamics of an abusive relationship, including people who endure and people who perpetrate, warning signs, case studies, how to speak to someone about domestic abuse, and a robust response/referral pathway including employer IDVA support. Clear information about what the champion/advocate role IS and more importantly what it isn’t will also be explored i.e. we are not asking champions/advocates to be counsellors or domestic abuse workers themselves.

A training for specialists within organisations who are interested in supporting employees who endure, witness or perpetrate domestic abuse.

In the morning we discuss the forms modern slavery is taking in the UK with real life case studies to illustrate it’s complexity and its involvement in migration and organised crime. Delegates learn how to identify if someone is experiencing or is at risk of Modern Slavery by delving into what makes people vulnerable and what the drivers of exploitation are. During the afternoon, delegates will take a deep dive into the UK’s current support systems, how to access these and the common needs and barriers to disclosure. The training concludes with a look at yearly and quarterly trends and consideration of the impact of the latest legislation, such as the new Nationality And Boarders Act 2022, and the Illegal Migration Act 2023.
