Data Centres, Fire and Gas Detection

Data Centres offer a challenge to fire system designers due to the complex nature of the building, high energy load, fast airflow rates due to cooling and newly developing risk. Although regional codes and standards do acknowledge the challenges in good deployment of fire and gas detection, developments in detection technology often surpass the commentary in codes. This CPD gives an overview of the challenges found in Data Centres and what technology there is to improve building and life safety in these applications.
