FIDIC Claims & Disputes Course

This course had been designed to share the requirements and procedures to be able to conduct a Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB). FIDIC has now brought DAB (1999) to Dispute Avoidance and Adjudication Board (DAAB) (2017) on a standing format, enhancing their role in a construction project. The course focuses on legal and contractual backgrounds, mechanisms, project management features and procedural rules. The course is built upon the new features of the 2017 FIDIC Forms and the sessions highlight the main differences between the 1999 Conditions of Contracts and the new 2017 Edition as to DAB/DAAB.

This practical training course explains and illustrates the use of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Design, Build and Operate Projects (the “DBO Contract”). The course will elaborate on the Design Build period as well as the Operation Service Period while highlighting the risk allocation and responsibilities of the parties involved in the Contract. The course will cover variations, claims, and a brief on the dispute resolution mechanism.

This special FIDIC Contracts Intermediate Course programme has been designed to discuss the application of FIDIC Contracts. The course will be highly practical and includes active participation in ‘hands-on’ workshops and discussion sessions. This course is aimed at providing systematic and practical guidance to professionals engaged in major projects.

This course sets the foundation for understanding the methodology of FIDIC contracts, providing a comprehensive introduction to standard forms and procedures and analysis &amp, comparison of the 2017 Second Editions of the Red and Yellow Books.

The course is designed to help the participants expand their knowledge and confidence in working with FIDIC’s major construction contract forms whether representing Employers, Consultants or Contractors. The online course mainly focuses on contractual mechanisms, project management features of FIDIC’s major contract forms and best practices.

This practical training course explains and illustrates the use of the FIDIC EPC Contract (the “Engineering, Procurement and Construction/ Turnkey Contract” or “Silver Book”). The course focuses on the 2017 Silver Book, but the sessions also highlight the main differences between this and the earlier edition from 1999.Throughout the course, participants will be provided with case studies based on real projects and contracts. These will be used as the basis for homework to be completed between sessions.

The course will focus on FIDIC contract clauses and the practical use of the four documents (White Book, Sub-consultancy Agreement, Model Joint Venture Agreement and Model Representative Agreement) illustrated through real life case stories, discussion of these and comments from the trainers.
