The Climbing Competency course will provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to enable them to safely climb a structure. The course covers working at height regulations and guidance. Safe procedures are set out to include PPE, correct fitting of a safety harness, PPE inspections and other risk assessments. The course covers legislation, inspection of PPE, risk assessment, winch familiarisation, positioning and earthing a winch.

The Tower Rescue course will provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to enable them to safely rescue themselves or a fellow climber in the event of a fall or other fault encountered during work on a tower, mast or pylon. Delegates will take part in climbing a transmission pylon in Izumi's specially designed training area. Rescue techniques will be demonstrated.
