Story Telling in the Arabic classroom

In this course the trainee teachers will be able to navigate, analyse and think critically about the different approaches and techniques to teach grammar. They will reflect and discuss and be clear about pedagogy behind different grammar strategies. The ways of adapting activities to their students' needs and levels and to the aim of the session. They will learn how to choose and assess grammar activities according to the aims and set a context to each grammar activity they need. Creating good interaction and communication during different grammar activities, encourage and motivate students to learn and understand the grammar rules is another focus of the session.

In the approaches and techniques to teach Arabic using listening in skill, the trainee teachers will be able to navigate, analyse and think critically about the different approaches and techniques to teach and use listening activity effectively. They will reflect, discuss, and be clear about pedagogy behind different teaching strategies. The ways of adapting activities to their students’ needs and levels, to the aim of the session. They will learn how to choose and assess listening activities according to the aims and set a context to each listening activity they need. Creating good interaction and communication during different listening activities encourage and motivate students to learn and understand the target language in a listening activity is another focus of the session.

This course will enable participants to navigate, analyse and think critically about the different approaches and techniques to teach speaking in the Arabic Classroom and will reflect, discuss and be clear about pedagogy behind different speaking strategies. It also covers ways of adapting activities to their students' needs and levels and to the aim of the session. They will be able to deal well with different Arabic dialects and varieties and see the aim of each dialect and when it is needed. Other speaking (techniques) such as fillers and body language and how to bring them into the activities will also be discussed.

In the approaches and techniques to teach writing in the Arabic classroom, delegates will be able to navigate, analyse and think critically about the Different approaches and techniques to teach writing. They will reflect, discuss and be clear about pedagogy behind different activities and exercises and ways of adapting activities to their students' needs and levels. They will learn how to choose and assess writing activities according to the aims and set a context to the writing activity they need. Creating good interaction and communication during different writing activities, encourage and motivate students to write balancing between accuracy and fluency is another focus of the session. Connect the students to writing in Arabic through emotions.

This session allows Arabic teacher to recognise different types of learners in the Arabic classroom and strategies for accommodating them all in order to make their journey of learning enjoyable and fun. This awareness will make teacher avoid any stress or confusion that could happen to those learners.

This session aims to introduce the concept of reflection for Arabic language teachers who teach Arabic language for young learners in order to be able to improve and develop their language teaching approaches and methods, The session will allow teachers to practice different ways of reflecting on their own classroom practices and on others as well, During the session there will be introduction to the reflection cycle, steps and questions that help reflect on classroom practices, and techniques to be a reflective teacher,

They will reflect, discuss and be clear about pedagogy behind different activities and exercises and ways of adapting activities to their students' needs and levels. They will learn how to choose and assess reading activities according to the aims and set a context to each reading activity required. Creating good interaction and communication during different reading activities to encourage and motivate students to read, balancing between accuracy and fluency, is another focus of the course.

This session aims to equip Arabic teachers with the skills needed to teach the foundations of the language communicatively to beginner learners. The application of the session will be on teaching Arabic Alphabet.

Trainee teachers will be able to identify the target language and learn how to stage a lesson according to their students’ needs and level. They will learn different ways to stage a lesson. They will also learn the theory behind different approach and reasons behind each stage. They will learn the difference between the PPP and ARC when it comes to staging a lesson. They will learn the advantages of each strategy and when to use each of one them. They will practice what they have learnt by presenting their lesson plan on different target language after each demo. Trainee teachers will learn how to break down the target language and help learners acquire the language gradually through scaffolding.

This session allows Arabic teacher to recognise different approaches used to teach languages with application on Arabic language.

This session focuses on communicative strategies and techniques that help Arabic learners to understand Arabic written text and comprehend the meaning of what they read. These strategies and activities include summarising, inferring meaning from context, identifying and resolving problems and understanding the written text culture. This session contains activities that raise learners’ metacognition and self-regulation.
