This is an advanced course suitable for anyone who works with children, young people at adults at risk, either in a paid role or as a volunteer. This course builds on learning in basic safeguarding knowledge to consider statutory guidance and processes including the continuum of need. By the end of the course learners will have developed awareness of the challenges of multi agency working the role of the designated safeguarding lead and identified their own priorities for developing their role as reflective practitioners. The course can be run either for those who work with children, or to include adults at risk.

Allergen Awareness and Notifiable Diseases

This course is suitable for anyone who handles and prepares food. This might be in a commercial catering environment or as a volunteer, eg at a local lunch club. The course assumes knowledge of basic food safety, and builds on this to consider the legislation relating to the management of allergens, the effect that allergens have on the body and strategies to ensure that allergens are clearly labelled. Reducing contamination is covered alongside notifiable diseases and action to take. The course is assessed using a simple multiple choice quiz.

Food Safety In Catering - Level 2
