The programme is aimed at leaders and managers of all levels who are interested in increasing their ability to effectively deal with difficult conversations. A difficult conversation is one whose primary subject matter is potentially contentious and/or sensitive and may elicit strong, complex emotions that can be hard to predict or control. It is anything you find hard to talk about.

This training course provides a foundation in mediation for those who work with people in organisations or communities. We begin with an introduction to Conflict – exploring different styles, skills and tools. We give an overview of the theory of Negotiation and Mediation. The bulk of the time is devoted to skills work so this is an experiential course. The roleplays are based on the type of 2-party conflicts regularly faced by those taking the training together. Participants complete a portfolio for Open College Network accreditation.
