We are all familiar with media reports of natural and man-made disasters, with increased awareness of terrorism and safety issues in our societies. However, it isn’t just these tragic events that we must be prepared to discuss with our employees. We must now be mindful of the part we play in employee mental wellbeing and how the workplace must act responsibly. Not knowing how to handle - or worse, ignoring- sensitive subjects such as post-traumatic psychological problems, PTSD and suicide only makes matters worse.
