Suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 in England and Wales. In the UK men remain three times more likely to take their own lives than women and in the Republic of Ireland four times more likely. 1 in 15 people have made a suicide attempt at some point in their life Suicide in young men in Scotland increased for the third consecutive year in 2017.

However it isn’t just these tragic events that we must be prepared to discuss with our employees. We must now be mindful of the part we play in employee mental wellbeing and how the workplace must act responsibly. Not knowing how to handle - or worse ignoring- sensitive subjects such as post-traumatic psychological problems PTSD and suicide only makes matters worse. Please note this course is to make you trauma-informed not trauma trained.
