Correct production operation of an oil and gas terminal is crucial for sustaining a safe and profitable business. This operation contains the oil processing and conditioning of a surface facilities system, from wellbore delivery to manifolds and gathering systems, separation equipment, crude conditioning, heat exchangers, heaters, chemical injection, desalting and dehydration, flares, controls, safety systems, flow lines, pumps, flow tanks and pipeline export requirements. This training explains dehydration and desolation of crude oil, the process necessary for stabilized crude at the end of the plant, ready for shipment, oil production and recovery, and oil processing and conditioning.

This course examines the processes leading to the formation and accumulation of carbonate rocks and how sequence stratigraphy provides a predictive method to understand the formation of these reservoirs and application in oil and gas industry. The principles and the practical application of sequence stratigraphy are studied, together with discussion on how this improves our understanding of subsurface reservoirs. Diagenetic changes that carbonate rocks undergo are also analyzed, and, where possible, set within a sequence stratigraphic framework. Finally, integrating all subsurface data to de-risk hydrocarbon exploration and development from sequence Stratigraphy point of view.

The course is intended to highlight the basics and the state of the art in process fired heater technology including operation, control safety, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to improve the operation, profitability, and safety of a plant’s fired heaters. The course will cover heater design, process considerations, and field evaluation of fired heaters. Topic such as troubleshooting common heater problems, burner operation, inspection and turnaround items, emission, instrumentation, and preparation of new heater specifications are also covered. Tools used to achieve high reliability are reviewed. This is an interactive workshop where participants are encouraged to bring problems they’ve encountered on the job for discussion.
