Trauma Informed Care and Vicarious Trauma

This course is designed with the aim to educate learners about Deaf awareness and the different barriers people with hearing loss face. Covering aspects of Deaf culture and British sign language, learners will develop essential skills required to communicate through a visual and accessible method. Throughout the course learners will be to hold a basic conversation and exchange personal information through BSL , by learning to fingerspell the alphabet and signs for, greetings, Question signs, numbers, locations and other vocabulary relevant to their personal and work life.

This course is designed with the aim to educate learners about Disability awareness and the different barriers people with disabilities face within society and in employment. A range of topics will be covered including the differences between the medical and social models of disability, the UK laws and legislation in place, disabled people’s rights to support and reasonable adjustments within the workplace, Learners will also experience the opportunity to sample experiencing disabilities through vision loss and hearing loss activities.
