This course aims to provide delegates with a basic understanding of energy efficiency in the home, and offers a focus on the way that behaviour change theories and ideas can enhance the impact of the advice offered to householders. The course will equip delegates with information about fuel poverty and health, the types of issues encountered by householders with meters and billing, and examine potential measures and assistance that might improve energy efficiency in the home. By exploring the theories behind behaviour change, delegates will also be able to examine how energy efficiency advice can be framed to encourage action by householders.

Fuel Poverty And Fuel Debt In The Private Rented Sector

Letting agents and private landlords renting homes who would like to, recognise the impacts of fuel poverty on private tenants, help tenants reduce condensation dampness, find out about new energy efficiency legislation affecting the prs, identify grants and assistance available to improve energy efficiency, reduce fuel bills and fuel debt, identify where to signpost tenants for further help. In light of new energy efficiency regulations which will prevent private landlords from letting f or g rated properties from April 2018, this training will enable participants to identify what support is available to landlords and their low-income and vulnerable tenants, which, in turn, should help tenants maintain their tenancy and reduce the likelihood of falling into rent arrears.
