Radar - Site Design Considerations

Safety is a major concern for airside operations. One of the biggest challenges is to distinguish between cooperative and non-cooperative targets. In this upcoming webinar, we will be discussing current technology utilised to address the issue. Additionally, we will also be examining how an Integrated Security Solution (ISS) can provide operators with advance warning of intruders approaching the fence line, as well as real-time tracking of targets on airside.

This is an introductory training module to provide a basic understanding of how Radar technology works and background on some of the different technologies available and in particular what needs to be considered when starting to specify Radar solutions. Follow on training will include more detailed application specific scenarios and what to consider when producing a RADAR specification for real world sites.

Airports and security-critical applications use radar for good reasons. Unlike cameras and fences, which may fail or be overcome, radar works in all weather and light conditions, requires minimal infrastructure and is highly effective, even at 3 km.
