Whole School Nurture Approach for Learning

In this programme we will explore how the data from the Digital Developmental Portrait (DDP) can enhance learning, strengthen attainment and deepen understanding and application of knowledge. The data is invaluable in identifying areas for development and areas of strengths within schools Participants will learn how the DDP can support their senior leaders in developing school practice and supporting school development, ensuring all staff can develop their knowledge and professional skills Participants will feel confident to analyse the data and how to use it to support their school development plan and graduated approach for SEND.

Family Nurture Train the Trainer is a two-day programme that will leave participants feeling confident to empower parents to work in partnership with school to meet their children’s developmental needs and will contribute to learners feeling both happy and successful in school. Robust evidence demonstrates that you can expect a positive impact on learner’s behaviour, achievement and mental health. Family Nurture is fun and has a history of attracting and engaging hard to reach parents and will support families to embrace the six nurture principles for learning. Parents will feel confident in enhancing their children’s social, emotional and cognitive development.

1 day training programmes to enhance teachers and practitioners’ knowledge to deliver an inclusive, developmentally led, trauma sensitive, nurture approach in the classroom or nurture group on a 1,1 basis or small group. The participant will leave with the confidence to use the Lego to support the learners developmental needs in developing their emotional language skills and building self esteem and self identity.

Relationships are essential for academic and emotional growth. Participants will learn the purpose of attachment behaviours, when they are used and how patterns of attachment develop. Participants will feel confident to identify and meet the needs of learners displaying attachment difficulties. They will gain an understanding of how attachments patterns are driven by anxiety, how to reduce this anxiety for individual learners, how to support learners to feel more secure and how this can lead to improved behaviours in the classroom. Participants will also have time to consider their own attachment styles and how these impacts on others around them.

One day training programme to enhance teachers and practitioners’ knowledge to deliver an inclusive, developmentally led, trauma sensitive, nurture approach in the classroom or nurture group. Practitioners will learn about how to Use non-verbal and verbal language for de-escalation. Use non-verbal and verbal language to meet developmental needs. Use communication to maximise learners’ potential. Leave with a bank of strategies to manage crisis situations.

5 x 3 hour plus 15 minute module training programmes to enhance teachers and practitioners’ knowledge to deliver an inclusive, developmentally led, trauma sensitive, nurture approach in the classroom or nurture group. Practitioners will learn about the neuroscience of the six nurture principles for learning. They will be able to confidently use them as a framework for learning in the classroom. They will have access to the Digital Developmental Portrait which will help them support the developmental needs of the children and young people in order that they can achieve their potential in a an emotionally safe environment.

This programme explores the importance of introducing and promoting appropriate touch in the classroom and the resulting benefits to emotional health, wellbeing, resilience, and learning and achievement. We will consider the fundamental relationship between touch, child development and social bonding and the positive impact this has on relationships in the learning environment. We will also think about how teaching children appropriate touch is key to safeguarding.

Participants will gain an understanding of how experiences impact on the way our sensory system develops. We will explore how, Important the sensory system is to the learning process, an undeveloped/disrupted sensory system can affect learning. How early experiences influence the development of our senses and with a particular focus on interoception, tactile, proprioception and vestibular. This course will also consider, The impact of trauma on our sensory system. How unmet sensory needs influence behaviour, mental health, and learning. (What you may see and how you can help). How we can identify learners’ sensory needs and provide effective targeted solutions.
