To provide learners that work in safeguarding, who have received introductory training and practice experience, an opportunity to advance their understanding and knowledge of child exploitation.

To provide learners with an opportunity to expand on their understanding of the Contextual safeguarding approach by learning about the two central theories which underpin the Contextual Safeguarding approach- Street Capital Theory and Social Fields Theory. They will learn how to take their learning forward into their practice

To provide learners with an understanding of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), identify the signs and indicators to be aware of and have an understanding of how to initially respond.

To provide learners with an overview of child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation. By the end of the training, learners will understand grooming, typologies of CSE and CCE and trafficking. Leaners will hear from a parent with lived experience, understand contextual safeguarding, trauma informed practice and how to recognise and challenge victim blaming.

To provide learners with an introduction to the Contextual Safeguarding Approach (CSA), learn about the history of the CSA and why it is needed, principles of the CSA and how to apply it in practice. Learn about Pace’s Relational Safeguarding model and how it fits in with the Contextual Safeguarding Approach.

To provide learners with effective tools, techniques and understanding, to effectively plan a genuine holistic multi agency response to exploitation.

The ACSEP course is taught by highly experienced Pace staff, affected parents and leading experts from the fields of social work, police and academia

The aim of this course is to raise awareness and understanding of neurodiversity and child exploitation, with particular focus on how to support exploited young people who are on the autistic spectrum. Trainers, Danielle Davey and Dr Sarah Lloyd consider the language around neurodiversity and explore the ways in which autistic young people may present to professionals. The course explores the importance of utilising trauma informed practices when working with neurodivergent young people, enabling learners to understand how difficult it can be for young people to recognise that they are being exploited, and to disclose abuse.

To provide learners with an understanding of online safety and the harms that children can experience when being exploited using technology.

Working with and supporting parents and carers affected by cse. This one day course explores the support required and the role of parents and carers can have, if supported, in tackling this crime. Also covers good practice elements.

Supporting parents/carer’s affected by child exploitation. To teach safeguarding professionals how to effectively support parents/carer’s affected by child exploitation.

Become equipped with all the necessary resources, knowledge and experience to deliver CSE awareness sessions in your community.

A practical one day course during which you’ll receive the resources and knowledge to train others on how to support families affected by CSE.

Through a variety of different teaching methods including, direct trainer input, individual, small and large group exercises and visual material the course looks at why theses briefings are needed, what planning and preparation is required and gives trainers the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the content of the briefing and the opportunity to practice delivering parts of it.

Through a variety of different teaching methods including, direct trainer input, individual, small and large group exercises and visual material the course looks at attitudes and values around cse and familiarises them with the content they will deliver namely, why parents can be partners in tackling cse, the impact of cse on families, the support needs of parents and carers and elements of good practice around 4 key areas that disempower parents. It also gives learners the opportunity to practice delivering some of the activities.

To enable trainers to effectively deliver: County Lines: Lived experience training. Centring the voices of those with lived experience, challenge assumptions, improving safeguarding responses, and contributing to a more informed and trauma-sensitive approach to tackling child exploitation.

To provide learners with an introduction to Trauma informed practice and understand why being trauma informed is so important when working with families affected by child exploitation. The learners will gain an understanding of trauma and how it manifests and what they can do to support parents.

This training package is designed for trainers to deliver to practitioners who are, or may come into contact with families affected by CE. It aims to equip practitioners with information about the impact of CE on the child and family, the support needs of the child and family and also effective methods of support and intervention to safeguard children affected by child exploitation.
