Positive Behaviour Management (PBMpro) Train-The-Trainer Course

This one-day PBS course gives a broad introduction to the theory, values and process of PBS and the concept of challenging behaviour. Participants are introduced to the basic building blocks of the Antecedent - Behaviour - Consequence (ABC) model of human behaviour and how this forms a basis for understanding challenging behaviour. Participants learn the importance of preventing challenging behaviour by creating helpful environments and are given tools to assess their own service settings. Participants learn the key elements involved in developing PBS plans and learn to assess the readiness of their own service to put PBS into practice. This course is available to organisations either as a one-day workshop delivered by us or as a self-directed version that can be licenced to your organisation for internal use. The self-directed option can be completed by staff working remotely or as part of a group facilitated by your own trainer/manager.&nbsp,

PBMpro is our BILD-certified physical intervention programme. It complies with the RRN Training Standards. This 2.5 or 3-day course enables care staff to understand behaviours that challenge being exhibited by people they support and work towards preventing them happening (proactively) and managing them (reactively) if they are unavoidable. The theory includes understanding the function of behaviours that challenge and facilitating the construction of proactive plans to improve the individual’s quality-of-life. The practical includes safe, ethical physical intervention and self-protection techniques. The training is suitable for Learning Disabilities (Adults & Children), Older People, Acquired Brain Injury & Mental Health settings.
