This training course is designed to help frontline workers who encounter dual allegations of domestic abuse. This will help them break down the dynamics of power and control to identify the primary perpetrator of abuse. Participants will learn how to use the Respect Brief Assessment Checklist during assessments on the phone and in person in order to gain confidence using this tool to identify the primary perpetrator. Participants will practice skills to identify the primary perpetrator in cases of dual allegations and respond appropriately.

This blended learning course will provide practitioners with an increased ability to recognise Child and Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse, to understand the dynamic involved and provide practical tools to enable practitioners to support the families they are working with. The course consists of access to an online learning platform to be completed before the 3-hour virtual skills-based session with a skilled practitioner.

Treatment management is a key element of delivering a Respect accredited service. It is how services monitor the quality and integrity of the intervention, and also an integral part of staff growth and practice development. This interactive, practical training will support practitioners, service managers and practice managers to increase their understanding and confidence in this area. Attendees will learn how to undertake Treatment Management within the context of a perpetrator intervention, how to improve delivery and support staff development by identifying strong areas and areas for development, and how to deliver sensitive and targeted feedback.

The course will teach the learner the signs, the believed causal factors of CAPVA and the impact that this has on the young person and their family. The course shares definitions, prevalence, theories, risk factors and case studies to inform learning and is for anybody who would like to learn more about this topic. An introduction to Child and Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse is written by Respect, the pioneering organisation behind the flagship intervention “Respect Young Peoples Programme” which supports families experiencing Child to Parent Violence and Abuse.

This intensive one-day training covers all aspects of effective record keeping and defensible decision making. A consistent record-keeping system is crucial for making defensible decisions. Decision-making requires easy access to relevant information, evidence, data, timelines, and other key elements of a case. Good record keeping ensures that all necessary information is readily available, supporting sound, defensible decisions. We'll also explore how good record keeping aligns with the Respect Standard requirements, helping you ensure that your practice meets accreditation standards. The training includes practical case studies and interactive exercises to reinforce the skills covered.

This 1-day course will equip participants with a thorough understanding of the sexual respect module, and best practice for delivering this within the context of the domestic violence perpetrator programme safely and effectively. This training is interactive, using a range of media, practical exercises, and discussion to give participants a “toolkit” of skills and knowledge based on evidence and recent theory. Practitioners of all levels will gain confidence in facilitating the sexual respect modules of a DVPP. It is particularly suitable for experienced staff to complement more general group facilitation training courses they may already have attended.

This training course is designed to help frontline workers support male victims of domestic abuse. Participants will identify the domestic abuse experiences of male victims and the barriers to help-seeking, and learn how to use the Respect Toolkit for Work with Male Victims of Domestic Abuse, so they can better meet the needs of the men they work with.
