Advanced domestic abuse masterclass covers what domestic abuse is and the myths surrounding domestic abuse, but also goes into more details on types of domestic abuse, different types of perpetrators, trauma informed practice and risk and safety planning. After the training, learners will be able recognise different forms of domestic abuse and will be able to identify risk and create safety plans.

This course provides a foundational understanding of trauma and its profound impact on individuals, with a particular focus on domestic abuse as a potential traumatic experience. The course emphasises the importance of recognising trauma responses with empathy and offers practical strategies to apply the core principles of trauma-informed care: safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity.

Older victims/survivors are often invisible from domestic abuse services. They are at an increased risk of experiencing abuse from family members and are most likely to experience economic abuse. This course will provide learners an insight into the prevalence and distinct nature of domestic abuse affecting older people. The course will increase learners’ confidence in recognising the signs of domestic abuse affecting older people and responding appropriately.

Safety planning is a key skill for professionals working with victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and stalking. This course will ensure learners understand the importance of safety planning and how to safety plan in different situations. It will increase learners' confidence in why, when, and how to carry out safety and support planning and understanding the process of emergency safety planning.

It is a myth that the majority of stalkers are strangers lurking in alleys or celebrity obsessed fans - the vast majority of stalking is perpetrated by someone who knows the victim, mostly an ex-partner. This course will give you a understanding of stalking behaviours, perpetrator's typologies and motivation, the impact of stalking upon the victim and how to best support victims of stalking.

Sexual violence affects millions of people every year. 5 in 6 women and 4 in 5 men who are raped do not report the crime to the police. This training session will increase learners understanding of what sexual violence is, what it looks like, and how to respond to it and refer to specialist agencies. The course will also explore the myths and misconceptions around sexual violence, and how societal messages impact on survivors, and the support they receive.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and its critical role in protecting domestic abuse victims and their families from harm. Participants will explore the fundamentals of safeguarding, the nature and impact of domestic abuse and when domestic abuse becomes a safeguarding concern. The training will also equip attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to safeguarding issues while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

This training course is designed to support professionals working on the frontline with victims and survivors of domestic abuse. It offers practical tools and reflective practices to build personal resilience and promote long-term wellbeing. Learners will explore the often-hidden emotional and psychological impacts of their roles, including burnout and vicarious trauma. The course emphasizes the importance of self-care, organisational support, and professional boundaries while encouraging reflective practice as a foundation for sustainable, compassionate work.

As new technologies and social media platforms are created, they also begin to be used as a monitoring or harassment tool by abusers. This training will help you to understand how abusers use technology to perpetrate abuse, the risk this poses to survivors and how to effectively safety plan against these methods of abuse. By the end of the training session you will also be able to identify protective technologies and how to incorporate this into safety planning with survivors.

Young people are more likely to experience domestic and sexual abuse in their own intimate relationships than any other age group. Ensuring young people receive specialist support is vital so their needs are met in a way that works for them. The course will give you an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and how young people experience abuse differently. By the end of the training session you will be able to spot the signs of abuse and have the confidence to respond to survivors.

This training discusses the biggest taboo in domestic abuse - violence of children and young people towards their parents, carers and siblings. Attendees will be asked to challenge their own beliefs and attitudes. The training will look into CAPVA as an issue affecting families, communities, and the wider society.
