Understanding children's experiences of domestic abuse

Training Course

About the CPD Course

Children who witness the abuse of their mothers, fathers, or other family members, are impacted by the intimate terrorism. The course will give you understanding of the lasting psychological, emotional, physical and social effects of a child’s exposure to domestic abuse. This training looks into the impact of developmental trauma and possible representations of trauma in children. By the end of the training, learners will be knowledgeable about the effective ways of supporting a child who witnessed or experienced abuse and they will be confident to develop your own practice when working with traumatised children.
