School Safeguarding & Child Protection Training 2024

This training has been designed for experienced DSLs who understand the role and all of the procedures required to effectively safeguard all children. Delegates will develop their understanding of a strategic approach to effective safeguarding and how to implement it across a setting or a Trust.

A course to raise awareness of Female Genital Mutilation to help people understand FGM as a form of child abuse and to be better able to identify and respond to it. This has been specifically developed for education-based staff including information regarding the mandatory reporting duty for teachers and how establishments can incorporate the teaching of FGM into the curriculum.

This is a one-hour briefing looking at online safety in schools. There are 6 briefings running over the academic year providing an opportunity for DSLs to gain updates on different pertinent issues and network with other DSLs, in between formal training.

Our bitesize briefings have been designed to support generic safeguarding and child protection training. These offer a more in depth focus on a specific area, to keep staff up to date with a range of safeguarding issues and topics. This 1-hour briefing focuses on record keeping and is designed for all education staff, whatever their role.

This training equips governors, trustees and senior leaders with the knowledge to provide strategic challenge to test and assure themselves that the safeguarding policies and procedures are effective and support the delivery of a robust whole school approach to safeguarding.

Delegates will gain an understanding of supervision in education and the extensive benefits of this for staff. Delegates will develop a plan to implement and embed supervision in their setting and, with the aid of a bank of resources, will leave the training feeling confident to facilitate effective supervision.

All school governors are now required to access training that equips them with the knowledge to provide strategic challenge to test and assure themselves that the safeguarding policies and procedures in place in schools and colleges are effective and support the delivery of a robust whole school approach to safeguarding. This interactive training session prompts governors to seek such assurances be fully involved with meaningful policy development and offer support and challenge to those directly involved in safeguarding children. Designed to be interactive, delegates are provided with opportunities to interact and given resources to support them in their role.

Introduction to Safeguarding and Child Protection and the role school staff play in this. This practical training session encourages delegates to notice and respond to all types of harm. Using fun and interactive activities such as Spot the Difference, delegates gain knowledge and understanding of signs, symptoms and indicators of harm. The training session also covers updates to KCSIE 22 such as child on child abuse, low level concerns and online safety.
