Skills for Security’s series of technical training webinars are an opportunity to upskill your knowledge, whilst gaining a recognised accredited certificate for participating. You will learn about the different transmission types for signalling, including IP, GPRS, GSM and PSTN. There will also be some key information related to the analogue switch off of our telephone network and how this will affect security systems. There will be technical information related to the standards, the grading and classifications used for signalling. Finally there is important information about ECHO and how this will be used to send effective and efficient signalling to police.

This first course gives candidates an opportunity to develop and upskill their knowledge whilst gaining a recognised accredited certificate for participating. Courses will be delivered fully remotely using our Learning Management System. All courses are available 24/7 through a mixture of pre-recorded content, course notes, activities and assessment.

The requirements to obtain a Systems Operative ECS Card have changed and you are now required to complete an ECS Fire Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) multiple-choice assessment and ECS H&S assessment to achieve the card. To support this SfS is offering a one-day online training course that aims to upskill engineers so they are ready to take the online multiple-choice FESS assessment. As part of this, the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) industry has identified four occupations for a FESS Systems Operative in Fire Systems, Fire and Security Systems, Security Systems and Fire and Emergency Systems. This course will help prepare you to pass your ECS Health and Safety and FESS ONLINE Multiple choice assessment.
