Making a Homeless Application

Training Course

About the CPD Course

This intensive and highly interactive training provides a structured, practical guide to making and challenging homelessness applications under the Housing Act 1996. Participants will explore prevention and relief duties, priority need, vulnerability, intentional homelessness, local connection and temporary accommodation. Through detailed case studies and decision-letter analysis, delegates develop the confidence to identify unlawful practice, challenge flawed s184 decisions, and apply statutory tests accurately. Designed for advisers and practitioners, this course strengthens legal reasoning, improves advocacy, and promotes defensible, person-centred homelessness decision-making.
