This course encourages staff to reflect upon and further develop their own communication skills. The course includes simulation and role play with experienced actors providing delegates with the opportunity to hone practical, core communication skills including critical reflection and feedback.

This interactive course is designed to hone the core communication skills vital in in Palliative and End of Life Care. It uses a variety of learning activities to suit all learning styles and promotes reflection and critical thinking using problem based learning.

This course takes a fun, interactive and activity-based approach to a traditionally theoretical subject. Using this unique approach learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to interpret blood results and make management decisions, including decisions on where and when to refer. Learners will identify and differentiate between time critical blood test abnormalities that require emergency referral versus those that are appropriate for referral in a less urgent time frame to other available departments and relate blood test results with clinical significance and presentation.

This course provides an overview of epilepsy and equips participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage seizures including the administration of buccal midazolam. The course is mapped to the Epilepsy Nurses Association best practice guidelines for training professional carers in the administration of Buccal (Oromucosal) Midazolam for the treatment of prolonged and / or clusters of epileptic seizures in the community.
