About the CPD Course

This course trains healthcare professionals in recognising and managing tonic-clonic seizures and the safe use of rescue medications, including buccal midazolam. Participants will learn ethical, legal, and duty-of-care responsibilities, risk assessment, and SUDEP awareness. The course covers patient-centred care planning, accurate documentation, emergency protocols, and escalation procedures. Practical demonstrations and video guides provide hands-on experience in administering midazolam, managing side effects, and addressing ineffective use. Learners will gain the knowledge and skills to safely integrate midazolam into individualised epilepsy care plans, ensuring confident, competent, and legally compliant practice in seizure management.
